Magwinya Recipe

Ingredients

 4 cups of cake flour

1 tablespoon salt

2 tablespoon sugar

10 g dry yeast

2 cups lukewarm water

oil for deep-frying

Instructions

1 Place the flour, salt, sugar & yeast into a bowl. Add the water and stir until well combined.

2 Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes or until the dough is soft.

3 Cover and keep in a warm place until double in size (30minutes). Knead for a minute. Divide the dough into balls.

4 Heat a pot of oil over medium heat. Check the temperature by dropping a small piece of the dough in the oil. It should cook through without browning too quickly.

5 When the oil is ready, add 3-4 dough balls and cook for 3 minutes, flipping them over halfway. Remove with a fork and drain on paper towels. Continue with the rest of the dough.

6 Serve with butter or another filling of your choice.
